Welcome to Chilli Rush. We make and sell artisan chilli sauces from our base in Stroud both online and at Farmer’s Markets with a permanent presence at the award-winning Stroud’s Farmers Market. We created Chilli Rush when we were blown away by a homemade chilli dip that came with our food in a tiny eatery in Paris. Back home in England, we couldn’t find a sauce that matched it anywhere, so we attempted to make it from memory. One of our greatest joys is cooking and experimenting with different foods, and having lived in Nepal, India, Guyana, Canada and England, we are no strangers to the wealth of spices and seasonings that exist to enhance every meal.
After hundreds of attempts, many frustrating evenings, no small number of disappointments and a lot of wondering if it was all worth it for a chilli sauce, we finally invented a sauce that not only did credit to its muse but (dare we say it?) surpassed it! How could we have doubted the value of creating a sauce that literally brings joy to every meal?
After months of eating chilli sauce every day, our chilli tolerance was pretty high, and when a friend (kindly) pointed out that the sauce we’d created was way too hot for them, we set about creating a range that could cater for all palates. That achieved, there was the small matter of capturing the gradients of colour that were in our minds but not in the jars. With no added colourings, this was a huge challenge, but perseverance paid off and we finally did it, producing a range that a family member described as “Autumn in a jar.”
The sweet tang of scotch bonnet chillis coupled with slow-roasted ingredients, and the fresh fruitiness of the Tropical (pineapples and mangoes) are so addictive that we eat them every day. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do and look forward to sharing our range as it expands over the coming months.
What sets us apart?
Made with slow-roasted ingredients and fully cooked through, these chilli sauces will add heat to your dishes without dominating the flavours. We have deliberately focused on flavours and added heat in manageable amounts to accommodate all tolerance levels.
Our sauces contain NO Additives, Preservatives, Colourings, Stabilisers, or agents to aid in longer shelf life. Being free of chemicals gives you peace of mind and allows you and your family to enjoy your meals without worrying.
Whether eaten as dips (Mild, Medium), used as marinades (Extra Hot) or diluted into dishes for added heat (Hot), they’re guaranteed to bring an exotic element to your friends and families’ tables.
